Ah got it, you are some AI bot trying to troll.
Win 11 is a downgrade with forced ms accounts, more ads, more distractions (tabloid “news”, weather, more ads, Microsoft own product ads) added to task bar, edge and notifications. On an OS I already paid money for!
This is an UI issue. You could just show them a landing Page and ask them if they want this new feature, and then it installs the extension in the background, without explicitly ask the user to go to the extension page to install something by hand.
Even simple pages are now at least 1-2MB big. News pages without an ad blocker and Autoplay videos can easily try to download 10 or more MB per page load. On 56kbits dial up, 10MB will take about 25 mins in the best case.
Why not add this features as browser extension?
Might be a requirement in some companies for security reasons…?
Wow, that’s a good as getting raped but with a condom!
“Please enter your name, birthday, race and arier pass number to continue!”
If they would use lidar you would get speed and distance from surrounding objects, which seems like valuable data for a moving object. With cameras you get a 2d picture that can only guestimate distance using multiple cameras and software.
Bro, do you really want to ruin tech bros because they would suddenly have to PAY for the data they use? Mark and Jeff would have to sell some of their yachts and Private jets to afford paying fair prices for AI data!
Running a business sounds like something an Excel table could do so much better…
A second reason for growing Internet energy consumption is that we spend more and more time on-line. Before the arrival of portable computing devices and wireless network access, we were only connected to the network when we had access to a desktop computer in the office, at home, or in the library. We now live in a world in which no matter where we are, we are always on-line, including, at times, via more than one device simultaneously.
While I agree with the point, i would like to remind everyone about the insane amount of news papers and print magazines that where produced, printed, shipped, read once and then discarded, especially up to the early 2000s before paper sales started to tank. I think it’s muchore effective and cheaper to transfer this content via the Internet instead.
Which American companies actually manufacture displays, ram, CPUs, batteries etc. for cellphones in America?
The preferred term is “vibe coding” nowadays!
I look forward to learning more about how terrible these phones turn out.
It will be a bog standard white label china phone with android, a custom wallpaper and maybe some cover/protector like you can get on temu. It’s not like they develop their own hardware configuration, apps or phone os.

Online ist dead. 5 mins in and I’m getting headshots from a guy across the map with a K:D of 3000:1. Everything online costs real money or endless grind. Waiting for 15 mins in a lobby, only that the host logs out 2 mins into the mission.
