These are still not good for a RAID array, was my point. Unless just storing sequentially, at a kinda slow rate. At least for SMR. I fear HAMR might be similar (it reminds me of Sony’s minidisk idea but applied to a hard drive).
I fear HAMR sounds like a variation on the idea of getting a coarser method to prepare the data to be written, just like on SMR. These kind of hard drives are good for slow predictable sequential storage, but they suck at writing more randomly. They’re good for surveillance storage and things like that, but no good for daily use in a computer.
OK…what’s this HAMR technology and how does it play compared to the typical CMR/SMR performance differences?
Wow. MVG should make a video on this one. Reminds me of the madness of getting Resident Evil 2 with its 15+ minutes of FMV cajoled onto a 64 MB N64 cartridge.
Dragons Lair onto GBC is pretty insane. I’m sure they went the same way of the Amiga port, if not just straight ripping out the graphics of that one.
Yeah…but usually the the sticker ones with a slide have a space where the cover slides to, and all that space will be over the screen. Unless you want to permanently cover the punch-hole camera.
Except these days the camera is a hole in the screen in a mobile phone, so you’d be effectively blocking part of the screen too.
Our only hope of anyone doing anything would be in the EU now.
The end result is the same though. First phone unlock is the one a bad actor can’t get through.
GrapheneOS is the easiest ROM install bar none. Get the en browser (needs to be chrome-based) to the install url, hook the phone cable, and let it run. It’s super straightforward. It’s not rooting though, you don’t get root access by default.
GrapheneOS also has this. Not sure stock android includes it.
IMHO as i have it as my daily browser, it can become troublesome with booking websites (flights, tickets, hotels, restaurant orders, shopping). They don’t like whatever Mull blocks, and at some point during any booking process you’ll be unable to complete it. Sometimes during the payment step, so it can be… Frustrating.
Kobo is the way.
…And which big creator would choose to PAY instead of getting paid for uploading their videos (like it is, as of now)? I doubt this model would work at all, I don’t think anyone would want to join like that. Sure enough, youtube/tiktok/insta/whatever takes a chunk of the profits too, but at least content creators there can start from scratch and don’t have to invest in hosting first.
Can you… Work for Broadcom? Or Oracle or EA, or something. Just a suggestion.
… Who is going to be fronting all those video hosting storage costs??
I have a brother ecotank…i know this one will wake every noon and do some quick maintenance, like attempting a 10 second print. I guess it’s exactly to avoid ink drying up.
Not at the same level. Ublock can remove way more granular spam and ads than pihole, which is limited at DNS requests. I use both… Running Firefox of course.
