House Republicans are exploring ways to prevent Zohran Mamdani from ever being sworn in as mayor even if he prevails in Tuesday’s election by using the Constitution’s “insurrection clause,” The Post has learned.

The New York Young Republican Club is pushing to prevent the NYC mayoral frontrunner from taking the oath of office Jan. 1 under an idea floated this summer.

It cites language in the post-Civil War 14th Amendment to the Constitution barring from office anyone who “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” or who has “given aid or comfort to the enemies.” The group argues that Mamdani’s own statements calling to resist ICE could violate the prohibition.

It’s the same provision Colorado used to try to kick Trump off the ballot last year, only to get slapped down by the Supreme Court. The high court ruled that it was up to Congress to enforcement the amendment, giving majority Republicans a chance to test their authority.

In short, “democracy” organized fascism when it felt it could no longer resist the pressure of the working class in conditions even of only formal freedom. Fascism, by shattering the working class, has restored to “democracy” the possibility of existing. In the intentions of the bourgeoisie, the division of labour should operate perfectly: the alternation of fascism and democracy should serve to exclude for ever any possibility of working-class resurgence.

As it has been prophesized for decades. Once the Republicans can no longer legally win they will cheat and steal to keep power. The constitution is only something to cudgel Democrats with, not something to honour.

Yeah that’s why I mentioned it because not everybody is aware that that’s exactly what they’re trying to do. They’re trying to start a war so that they can be seen by their supporters as being justified and using force against their enemies.

And to be clear what I mean by staying froggy, what I mean is to protest like the Portland frog does. Peacefully, cleverly, and without getting hurt or hurting someone else.

So, they’re openly and brazenly ass-fucking the constitution right in our faces, knowing full-well that there isn’t anyone, or anything to stop them.

America is a possession now. Owned and operated by terrorists, for terrorists.

Traitorous US government trying to figure out ways to screw American citizens and voters even harder. Fixed it for you. The USA has never been about 1 guy and should never be about 1 guy. That’s how you become Russia. How’s that going for them?

We have a tyrannical minority that is actively changing laws so they can remain in power indefinitely. We have a packed Supreme Court that is literally ignoring the Constitution when the reason they exist is to protect it. If they hadn’t made Trump king he would not be in office, he’d be in criminal court.

Republicans have been virulently anti-democracy for decades. As far as the GQP is concerned the majority can go fuck themselves.

No taxation without representation. If they dont honour the results, then you have no representation. And if you have no representation, then fuck them. They can sing for there taxes. The machine only works when you all play along. Stop playing. See how quickly anyone is willing to come to your door, when they arent getting paid to do so.

The power of people is only real power, when you all hold fast together. Let them threaten you. Let them jail you. Cos them money. And give them nothing until elections are fair and just.

On the other side of the ocean, plenty of people not even living on the same continent are cheering for Mamdani. Not because the mayor of NYC affects us directly, but because 1) he’s awesome and 2) if change starts with this mayoral election, tide may yet turn for the US as a whole. And of course 3) NYC is overly romanticized thanks to the American media my generation grew up on here in post-soviet Eastern Europe, plus it is awesome to visit. Maybe with Mamdani it can be awesome to live in again as well.

Yes. I also see Mamdani as hope for the us. That’s why billionaires are against him. That’s why the current admin is against him. He will inspire other young people to get involved with politics.
