I had aftermarket exhaust on my Dodge. Still had a muffler, just louder than the stock muffler. Didn’t really care about attention, just like the way a V8 sounds 🤷‍♂️

Where do you draw the line here?

Isn’t your house taking away places animals could live?

What about lights and how they mess with moths trying to fly towards the moon?

That’s a bad faith argument. People need a place to live. No one needs a loud exhaust.

It’s amazing how many people were set-off by “louder than stock” not “loud as I could find” … I don’t think Dodge is above or even-average-noisy to start with, but you’re a bane on man and nature, apparently.

Did you even buy them yourself or intentionally? Bet many idots don’t even realize non-OEM is cheaper when you need a replacement, nevermind the stupidity of buying the same version that has already failed you at least once. Noise bad. Aftermarket bad.

Why? How come the sound of a machine gives you pleasure? Do you feel pleasure going to the airport standing next to the plane without ear protection as well? I really wish I could understand. It’s absolutely alien to me, more like a mental issue.

But above all, are you that removed from society that you don’t know that it creates problem to other people? Or do you just don’t care and everyone can die or be tortured if it means you can enjoy your “pleasure”?

I really wish to know those answers, but above all; WHY ARE THERE SO MANY LIKE YOU? How come this species have so many dysfunctional individuals and how on earth is this accepted? Where can I go to live where there are none like you? And believe me I lived in dozens of cities looking for that answer.

I wish so much to not even know that your kind exists… To pretend this species I’m cursed to be part of is not as evil as it actually is…

I know that’s the answer but I refuse to believe and I would like them to explain themselves.

They look like me, look human, as a human, that kind of behaviour seems impossible to me. But then we have zionists, billionaires, etc, sadists everywhere, so I think the problem must be with me.

Speakers are machines and they give us great pleasure.

Plenty of people watch F1 and love the sounds of a V8 or V10 or whatever. So much so they can tell them apart.

Why do you feel the need to shit on what someone else likes because you don’t.

Sure if we shined a light on your life we might find that you too are a little inconsiderate at times.

This place is so fucking depressing. Just a load of sad little freaks mad at the world and giving off old man shouting at clouds vibes.

        Why not just retire yourself.

Speakers are machines and they give us great pleasure.

Ok, sounds of machine explosions then. If you really have that trouble understanding.

Plenty of people watch F1 and love the sounds of a V8 or V10 or whatever. So much so they can tell them apart.

That’s what I would like to know, why do those dysfunctional individuals exists. What issue happened that made them enjoy loud noises that should make them scared? Do they enjoy the sound of thunder? Airplane jets next to their faces? Why?

Sure if we shined a light on your life we might find that you too are a little inconsiderate at times.

If I caused hearing damage to people, damaged their health, made the life of hundreds (thousands? I don’t how long you’ve been driving) a nightmare, I should be jailed or killed. I am a sociopath then, a danger to society.

How on hell is that behavior legal I don’t know, but I am not an absolute piece of shit committing crimes daily. And if I am I DO deserve punishing and it’s astonishing that society would not do it.

This place is so fucking depressing. Just a load of sad little freaks mad at the world and giving off old man shouting at clouds vibes.

Your kind makes my life fucking depressing. If I could commit crimes like your kind does, I would get rid of all of you. Unfortunately I can do nothing, only shout at clouds really.

I am being rude, yes. But like I said, to me your people are criminals and I would do anything if I could to punish you lot, not to have debates, because there is no debate with someone who doesn’t care if he’s hurting others and continues to do so.

Dude if you think people are dysfunction because they like something you don’t then you’re a loser of the highest order and you should go have a look at yourself and perhaps do some introspection.

I like classical music and many people hate it, do I judge them, no I don’t.

To answer your question about engines as I used to work with a guy who loved them and even had a cd with their sounds, unlike you I didn’t judge him and I asked him about it as I love when people are passionate about things.

This dude was doing engineering with a view to work on F1 cars and he just loved everything about cars and the sounds they make, like the engineering marvels of it are fascinating to him.

He was fascinating to me, more so than someone like you who likes to judge people.

I should clarify I’m not the person who said they enjoyed them, although I actually do now I think about it. Yeah I love thunder and airplane engines too.

Also, dudes not caring hearing damage to people you fucking idiot. Get a grip.

Do you force everyone around you in a massive distance to hear classical music everywhere you go? Even better, in a volume that would cause them hearing loss?

No right? Unless you are an absolute asshole. I love classical music, and I wouldn’t do that, because I am not a piece of shit and I know that me “like something you don’t” doesn’t give me the right to force it on you.

It’s not about taste, no matter how horrible and senseless. It’s about forcing other people to 'enjoy" your taste. Do you not get it? You can like whatever you want. But you can’t (or shouldn’t be allowed) to force everyone else to hear it.

Your fascination with that dude is yours alone. I don’t know why it’s relevant.

Also, dudes not caring hearing damage to people you fucking idiot. Get a grip.

What are you talking about causing hearing damage to people? Literally never heard such a case. Even after doing some searching you would have to be around 85+ Decibels for a prolonged period of time.

Years ago we have Jenson Button literally driving a F1 car through the streets of Manchester. The sound was like nothing I’ve ever heard and tens of thousands of people where there to enjoy it and I don’t know of a case of hearing damage. So it’s preposterous to claim someone driving past you with a loud exhausts is going to damage your ears. If that’s the case you best stay at home as there are plenty of other loud noises around.

They’re not banned in the Uk and they would be if they caused issues. They’re the same as motorbikes.

I can tell you this, I’ve been on this earth for 42 years and been around a lot of people and I have never ever met anybody IRL that mains about loud exhausts.

You’re going off on me like I have one, I have a stock Mercedes A200d 2020, very quiet. I’m just sticking up for the other dude who wants to enjoy things they like. You sound like my grandma.

Let’s just agree to disagree and we both fuck off cause honestly I’m not in the mood and frankly you’re boring me.

The last part said dude isn’t causing hearing damage to people. Get a grip.

                  You met one. Me.

I’m a cyclist, not protected with motorcycles helmet or 1 ton of metal. You don’t know the pain of being next to people “enjoying things they like” and blowing up my ears.

Or the many many many nights without sleep because of them.

And people who think they don’t have to consider others can just go get fucked. There’s not much debate we need to have about that, really.

Honestly, I find this incredibly hard to believe. I have been in Manchester City centre Jenson Button was literally driving an F1 car through the built up streets, tens of thousands of people there with no hearing protection listening to a roar order of magnitude louder than after market kit on a regular car.

Even searching online it seems to get hearing loss or effects from an exhaust you would have to exposed to 85+ decibels for a prolonged period of time. Which doesn’t fit with someone driving past you. Also, my boss has cycled to work for a decade and never had this issue and we have lots of loud cars as I work in a posh area with lots of sports cars.

Can’t you just put some headphones on and enjoy the sound of explosions?

Does everyone in a 10km radius have to “enjoy” it as well?

So you like the people who always use their loud speakers instead of headphones?

I like seeing atomic explosions. Surely I should be able to create one in real life because it’s a total different feeling than seeing the video.

Your pleasure should never be above the safety and rights of others. I understand headphones won’t give you the same “pleasure” as the sound of real explosions, but that’s the limits of how you should be able to enjoy it.

I don’t. To me the exhaust and noise are terrible but unavoidable issues of a combustion engine. A fetish with it and attempts to hear more of it are alien concepts to me. I would only modify my car to reduce the issue and I don’t know what you need to do to enjoy your “pleasure”.

If it’s not loud (assuming I can trust you understand what not loud means) how can you hear from inside the car? And if you can hear from inside, people outside can hear it MORE. So it’s an impossible concept to me. Like enjoying hurting others but that they don’t feel pain.

Or do you mean that anything below killing people and damaging structures is not absurdly loud and therefore acceptable?

I’d argue that in order for it to sound good, it shouldn’t be deafeningly loud. You need to be able to hear it some, but not enough that people 2 blocks down from you can hear.

Absolutely, I love moding my bikes for a good throaty induction snarl, high compression saw tooth like exhaust gases, even the cam timing can get touched on for the sound I’m looking for.

Overly large diameter silencers/mufflers drown everything I love about engine sounds, it’s just the same loud drone at idle, part throttle or wide open, nasty.

Who on this thread hears a lexus LFA and just gets down right jealous? but yeah a stock 1.5 ltr honda with a 4 inch exhaust is um… shit, car guys make up words that are kinder, like “it’s a little boomy on the highway” but it’s just shit in your ears.
