The joke is about how many variations on pronouncing the name “Euler” there are (Ew-leer, Oiler, Yoy-lir, etc), via a key and peel sketch about alternate pronunciations of common names.
I once spoke to a philosophy professor who pronounced Nietzsche as though it rhymed with itchy. I didn’t correct him because I was 19 and felt intimidated, but at some point along his career, he wouldn’t have intimidated everyone, how does that even happen?
It was so good he got hired to do a Paramount commercial about it and according to an interview people on the street would yell out “AY AY RON” when they see him.
If they had gotten the same actor who played the college football player, that would have made it better. They made a call back to the sketch in one of the East-West Bowl sketches where a player is named AY AY RON.
???

Did you know Key & Peele made an appearance in Weird Al’s White & Nerdy?
You made that one up.

Pretty much one of the best sketches they did.

Luckily there’s a support group for all the Ay-Ay-Rons and Dee-Nices out there

It being a real football player probably made a lot of people’s day.
I can’t see the name Aaron written out and not think “ay ay ron”
Euler?
