does anybody know whether weed smoke has the same bad health effects on your lungs as cigarettes?

i assume yes if the dose of smoke is the same, since it’s the smoke that’s acid and not the nicotine.

Yes it has around the same health effects if you smoke it in equal quantity. I think tobacco is a little worse because of some unique compounds or something that are generated, but ultimately smoke is pretty bad for you.

The thing with weed is that the quantity is often way lower, so practically speaking is often not as bad.

I don’t know about other people, but I can barely smoke a whole joint in one sitting in a day. My wife on the other hand can smoke half a pack of cigarettes a day. I don’t really know many other people that smoke weed though. I actually smoke less now that I ran out of my home grown stuff I grew last year. The commercial stuff in Canada is way too strong for me.

It’s definitely a lot less smoke with weed. I have a few friends who smoke, and when we smoke together, we’ll light up a joint that’ll last for a while because we only take three to four hits each, and then we’re set. Or when I smoke alone, a whole ounce will last me an entire month, even if I’m smoking all day, every day. That’s equivalent to two packs of cigarettes (assuming 18 grams/pack) PER MONTH of weed.

The only thing people should be wary of is holding it in for way longer than necessary.
