Two protesters have been blinded by so-called “less-lethal” munitions deployed by federal officers during an anti-ICE protest last week in Santa Ana, California, according to reports.

Widely seen video recorded at the Santa Ana protest showed a homeland security agent shoot Kaden Rummler, 21, in the face with a less-lethal munition at a distance of only a few feet. Doctors found glass shards and plastic fragments in his skull and a fragment of metal lodged just shy of his carotid artery.

I saw the video where the “officer” held their “non-lethal” weapon right up to the face of a non-violent protester and fired. This was clearly intentional and should be treated as such. There is no legitimate complaint about qualified immunity (and no, claiming total immunity doesn’t mean that is legal) or that he didn’t know. This was intent to cause major harm for no reason other than someone disagreed. It was horrible and any actual law and order would impose significant jail time and reparations

Does this not fly in the face of the First Amendment - why are conservatives not mad about this as well?

Those shot seem to have been protesting peacefully with no weapons or military protective gear on public lands, and then ICE walked into them and pulled a protester away, intentionally escalating conflict, then firing into a protesters face at about 2ft away.

Insane that there is still no general strike over ICE (and more).
